- At least C+ score in KCSE for bachelor’s degree applicants
- At least upper second-class honours degree for master’s degree applicants
- Official transcripts from previous academic years / diploma
- Declaration of Value from the Italian embassy
- English proficiency certificate (IELTS. TOEFL, etc.)
- Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) for engineering students
- A valid passport
- Payment of non-refundable university pre-enrolment and application fee
- Provide proof of accommodation
- Type D Visa
- Payment of first tuition fee instalment

- Choose your university, study programme and submit pre-enrolment application

- Pay your AFRISMO fully refundable support fee deposit (€ 500.00)
- Pay non-refundable application fee (Variable from on one university to another)
- Get your admission letter and apply for your study visa
- Pay your housing deposit
- Pay your first tuition instalment
- Housing application
- Payment of housing deposit
- Pay AFRISMO balance (€ 500.00)

- Pre-vetting: all year round
- September Italian Classes intake: from 1st June to 30th September
- Pre-enrolment: from October to April
- CENT-S and SAT tests: November to December and January to March

Visa application requirements
- Entry visa application form.
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Travel document valid for at least three months after visa.
- Enrollment or pre-enrollment in a University course.
- Proof that you have an accommodation in Italy.
- Proof that you have financial support (at least € 467,65 per month for the academic year, a total of € 6.079,45 per year).
- Adequate insurance coverage for medical treatment and hospitalization.
- Proof of the availability of the financial means needed for repatriation.
- Proof of adequate knowledge of Italian or English according to the language of the program.

Public Universities

Private Universities

Cost of living
- The cost of living in Italy varies depending on the city and lifestyle and other factors.
Student Hostels: Costs could range between €200 and €500 per month.
Private Rentals: Renting a private apartment can cost between €350 and €900 per month, depending on the location and size.
Monthly food expenses typically range from €150 to €300, depending on eating habits and whether students cook at home or eat out frequently. We recommend eating out though, it’s Italy of course!
Public transportation costs around €25 to €50 per month, with discounts often available for students. Italy has an extensive and efficient public transportation system that connects major cities and regions, making it easy to navigate the country for cheap.
Museums, shopping and general activities, or other personal expenses can add up to €100 to €300 per month.
